RailTel Corporation of India has received a letter of intent (LoI) from Bihar State Electronics Development Corporation for implementing the “Mukhyamantree Surakshit Sushaasit Shahar” (Safe City) project.
The contract value is Rs 216.81 crore inclusive of taxes. This initiative aims to enhance urban safety and governance across selected cities in Bihar by deploying advanced surveillance, communication, and data management systems. The project involves integrated technology solutions such as high-definition CCTV surveillance, intelligent traffic management, command and control centres, and analytics for crime prevention and efficient law enforcement.
As the implementing agency, RailTel will be responsible for end-to-end execution, including system integration, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance. The award reinforces RailTel’s expertise in ICT and smart city solutions, expanding its portfolio of large-scale government technology projects. This project aligns with Bihar’s vision of leveraging technology for public safety and better city management, while positioning RailTel as a key player in India’s smart governance and safe city infrastructure domain.
