The Jammu & Kashmir government is contemplating to develop Ring Road projects in Jammu city and Srinagar to ease increasing traffic congestion.
For Jammu city, a 60 km Ring Road on the pattern of Delhi and a 62 km such Ring Road for Srinagar are being developed.
A detailed project report worth Rs 1,350 crore has been prepared for Jammu. Similarly, for Srinagar city another detailed project report worth Rs 1,650 crore has been prepared.
The DPRs worth Rs 3,000 crore have been submitted to National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).
The discussion with regard to these projects is going on at various levels in the Union Ministry of Highways.
