The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is upgrading Kullu-Manali section of NH-21 (now NH-3) from 272.00 km to 309.34 km in Himachal Pradesh on engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis under NHDP Phase-IV B. The road upgradation will be carried out at a cost of Rs 299 crore.
Gawar Constructions bagged an order worth Rs 213 crore in 2016 to execute the project. As per recent update confirmed with Projects Today, around 85 percent work on road upgradation has been completed.
Going by the current pace of execution, NHAI is confident that upgradation work will be over before the scheduled completion date of of February 2019.
