Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has approved a Rs 1,600 crore project to widen the Nagpur–Bhandara highway to six lanes, featuring a 6 to 7 km long bridge. This upgrade aims to enhance road safety, reduce travel time, and boost regional economic growth. The Guardian Minister, Chandrashekhar Bawankule, emphasized the importance of the bridge, and the project’s bhoomipujan is planned within four months.
Additionally, a Rs 150 crore cement road from Zero Mile to Automotive Square has been sanctioned. Gadkari highlighted ongoing infrastructure improvements in Nagpur district designed to foster connectivity and safety. He also underscored the tourism potential of Ramtek, mentioning an approved ropeway project and suggesting amphibian plane landings at Khindsi lake to elevate the region as a global tourist destination.
The initiative reflects a blend of infrastructure development and tourism promotion to stimulate economic progress in the region.
