Union Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, has announced Rs 358.82 crore funding for the construction of 97 rural roads and 33 bridges in Andhra Pradesh under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PMJANMAN) scheme.
Speaking at the National Watershed Festival in Guntur district, Minister Chouhan emphasised the government’s commitment to inclusive growth and justice for tribal communities. The funds will enhance road connectivity in regions populated by Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs), improving access to vital services such as healthcare, education, and electricity.
The Minister also highlighted that the projects align with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s “Swarna Andhra” (Golden Andhra). With tendering expected to be completed within a week, all projects are set for completion by 2025–26, promoting socio-economic development in remote tribal areas.
