Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced a Rs 58 crore Ring Road project to alleviate traffic congestion in Alandi, a major pilgrimage hub.
CM Fadnavis highlighted the severe traffic situation caused by the daily influx of devotees. He emphasised that the Ring Road would improve traffic flow and ease congestion. Alandi, home to the samadhi of the 13th-century Marathi saint Dnyaneshwar, draws thousands of visitors each day, straining its narrow roads.
Noting that the BJP-led Municipal Council had introduced a 10 MLD drinking water scheme in 2017, CM Fadnavis announced a new Rs 322 crore project to further enhance Alandi's water supply, addressing the town’s growing population and pilgrimage traffic.
