The Steel Authority of India (SAIL)-IISCO Steel Plant (ISP) in Burnpur has partnered with the TEXMiN Foundation of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad to establish a learning experience centre.
This collaboration aims to revolutionise workforce training and upskilling in the mining and metallurgy sectors through the integration of advanced technologies, simulations, and specialised training programs.It also emphasises innovation and sustainability in the steel and mining sectors.
The initiative focuses on blending hands-on case studies with modern training modules to foster skill development and prepare a workforce capable of addressing the challenges of a rapidly evolving industry. By leveraging IT-based solutions, the partnership highlights SAIL's commitment to digital transformation and aligns with TEXMiN's mission of enhancing human capabilities using innovative technologies.
Speaking about the alliance, Brijendra Pratap Singh, Director In-Charge of Burnpur and Durgapur Steel Plants, highlighted the mutual benefits of the partnership, describing it as a convergence of technology, academia, and domain expertise which will drive growth for both organisations and the broader industrial community.
