On 11 November, 2025, South Eastern Coalfields (SECL) launched Coal India’s first paste filling technology project at the Singhali underground mine in Korba Area of Chhattisgarh.
The groundbreaking ceremony, attended by key SECL officials and employees, was led by Harish Duhan, CMD of SECL, and marked a significant advancement in safe, eco-friendly underground mining practices. The project, designed to fill mine voids with a mixture of fly ash, tailings, and cement, ensures enhanced underground stability while minimising surface waste and environmental impact.
This initiative aligns with Coal India’s vision for greener mining and reflects SECL’s dedication to responsible resource management and environmental protection.
