The State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT) has applied for environmental clearance (EC) to the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change for the construction of an industrial park at four villages in Dharampuri district.

The SIPCOT has submitted the environmental impact assessment (EIA) report for the proposed development at Adhagapadi village of Dharmapuri Taluk, Adhiyamankottai, Thadangam and Balajangamanahalli villages of Nallampalli taluk. 

The manufacturing units of EV cars and scooters are located at Bargur and Hosur in Krishnagiri district, which is near the proposed industrial park site, adding to the viablility for industries.

Ola Electric would set up EV hub housing advanced cell and EV manufacturing facilities, vendor and supplier parks and a large ancillary ecosystem for EVs at a single location in Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri districts.
