Salasar Techno Engineering has secured a Rs 68.67 crore Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) project from Power Grid Corporation of India for the Puducherry Electricity Department (PED).
The contract, awarded in December 2025, involves the design, engineering, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of a 110/22 kV GIS substation at Lawspet, Puducherry. The substation will enhance the region's power distribution efficiency and strengthen the overall grid resilience. It is expected to meet both current electricity demands and future growth driven by urbanisation and economic development.
Shashank Agarwal, Managing Director of Salasar Techno Engineering, stated, “Securing this GIS substation project from POWERGRID reflects Salasar’s continued progress in the high-voltage substation space. We remain committed to supporting India’s power sector transformation through efficient and technologically advanced solutions.” The project positions Salasar as a key player in India's power transmission infrastructure, contributing to long-term energy security and economic growth.
