Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) has successfully charged the 765 kV double-circuit Bhadla II–Sikar II transmission line, marking a significant milestone in strengthening India’s power transmission network.
This new transmission line will play a crucial role in enhancing the evacuation of renewable energy from Rajasthan, a region with substantial solar power generation capacity. The commissioning of this line is expected to support the country’s clean energy transition by ensuring efficient transmission of large volumes of renewable energy to key load centres, contributing to grid stability and long-term energy security. The event was attended by G Ravisankar, Director (Finance), along with Abhinav Verma, Chief General Manager and Head of Rajasthan Projects, and other senior officials from PGCIL.
Speaking on the occasion, a company representative emphasised, “This transmission line is a critical step toward integrating Rajasthan’s renewable energy into the national grid, driving energy security and supporting India’s sustainable growth.”
