Tata Power has successfully commissioned the 400/220 kV Metro Depot Substation, along with associated transmission lines, marking a significant step in meeting the rising electricity demand in Greater Noida and the NCR region.
This key infrastructure project adds 1,000 MVA of transformation capacity, and surplus power from the system will be fed into the Northern Grid, helping support electricity needs across other northern states. The project was executed under TP Jalpura Khurja Transmission (TPJKPTL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power, and is the first milestone in the Jalpura-Khurja TBCB project.
Commenting on the achievement, a Tata Power representative highlighted that the timely completion of the project underscores the company’s expertise in precision-driven execution and commitment to sustainable infrastructure. With this addition, Tata Power’s transmission portfolio now spans 7,047 circuit kilometers, further reinforcing its role in strengthening India’s electricity transmission network.
