Salasar Techno Engineering will establish a state-of-the-art Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) substation in Puducherry at a cost of Rs 68.67 crore.
The project, awarded to Salasar Techno in December 2025, will be located in Lawspet and executed under the consultancy services of the Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) for the Puducherry Electricity Department. The GIS substation will feature a 110/22 kV capacity and involve comprehensive work, including design, engineering, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning. Once operational, it is expected to enhance the efficiency of power distribution and improve grid resilience, supporting both current electricity demand and future load growth driven by urbanisation.
Shashank Agarwal, Managing Director of Salasar Techno, expressed confidence that the project would align with the company’s commitment to delivering reliable and transformative assets for India’s energy infrastructure.
