The 4,000 MW Sasan ultra mega power
project will meet its fate on Monday when the Empowered Group of Ministers will
discuss on the Sasan issue and decide whether to award it to the second lowest
bidder or invite fresh bids.
The EGoM had earlier declared the
Lanco-Globeleq consortium's bid for the plant as invalid and asked the Sasan
Power Ltd (SPL), the special purpose vehicle set up by Power Finance
Corporation, to examine future course of action.
The SPL board has left the decision on
to the government but however has also suggested that the other bidders be asked
to quote fresh prices to match the price quoted by the Lanco-Globeleq
consortium.
