Adani Power (APL), a wholly owned
subsidiary of Adani Enterprises has awarded a turnkey contract to Shandong
Electric Power Corporation (SEPCO III) of China for setting up the second phase
of the proposed 2,640 MW coal based power plant at Mundra.
In the second phase, the company
proposed to set up 2 X 660 MW (1,320 MW) capacity plant and It has entered into
an EPC (engineering procurement and construction) contract with SEPCO in early
September 2007. The project is scheduled for completion by 2011.
The company is now implementing
Phase-I of the project involving setting up of four 330 MW (1,320 MW) coal based
units. The project is implemented on a non-turnkey basis and is slated to be
commissioned in a phased manner beginning 2008.
