Servotech Power Systems (SPSL) has secured a contract from Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) to supply 2,649 electric vehicles (EV) chargers on 22 November, 2023.
Under the contract, SPSL will be responsible for manufacturing, supplying and installing 2,649 AC EV chargers across the country, equipping petrol pumps in major Indian cities under the BPCL E-drive project, which plays a key role in the widespread implementation of charging solutions. The range of these chargers includes three kW and seven kW for this project.
The production of these AC chargers has already commenced, and supplying these chargers will begin on 15 December this year and will be completed within three months. In addition, the company will oversee the installation, commissioning, and upkeep of these chargers.
This initiative seeks to set up e-mobility touchpoints, which streamline transactions, enhance availability, facilitate discovery, and simplify navigation for EV users, ensuring convenient access to the EV charging network.
Previously, SPSL and BPCL had worked together to transform the e-mobility landscape. The company also supplied and installed 800 units of 30 KW DC fast EV chargers at different locations for BPCL's e-drive project.
