The Uttar Pradesh Government has received seven bids for its Rs 7,000 crore,
150-km, 8-laned access controlled Upper Ganga Canal (UGC) expressway project
which is to run from Sanauta bridge in Greater Noida, Dehra near eastern
peripheral expressway to Uttar Pradesh-Uttarakhand border.
While Jaypee Associates, IRB Infrastructure, ESC Apollo and Isolux Corsan
submitted individual bids, Reliance Infrastructure and Reliance InfraVentures
formed a consortium as did Shriya Infrastructure with PNC and Galstar and Era
Infrastructure tied up with Sidmost.
The proposed UGC expressway is to be executed by private developer through
SPV on DBFOT model for the concession period where the concessionaire shall have
the right to realise the toll during the concession period and shall transfer
the projects assets to Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development
Authority at the end of concession period.
The UPEIDA is responsible for owning and implementation of this project. It
has appointed IL&FS Infrastructure Development Corporation as consultant for
developing and marketing of the project.
