Shilchar Technologies has announced that its ongoing capacity expansion project at its Gavasad facility in Vadodara district, Gujarat, will be operational by April 2027.
This project will add 6,500 MVA to its current manufacturing capacity, increasing the plant's annual capacity from 7,500 MVA to 14,000 MVA. The Rs 90 crore expansion, funded entirely through internal accruals, was driven by full capacity utilisation and rising customer demand. The plant, Shilchar’s sole manufacturing unit, has undergone two prior expansions— 3,000 MVA in 2018 and 3,500 MVA in 2024, from its initial 1,000 MVA.
The company stated it possesses enough land to nearly double the enhanced capacity if required. Shilchar manufactures a diverse range of transformers, including power, hydro, distribution, inverter duty (solar), generator (wind), and furnace transformers, with capacities up to 50 MVA and voltages up to 132kV. The firm also shared that its FY26 order pipeline stands between Rs 750 crore to Rs 800 crore.
