Shree Cement is planning to invest Rs 1,000 crore to augment its cement and
power capacities.
The company is setting up cement grinding units in Suratgarh (Rajasthan) and
Roorkee (Uttarakhand) of 1.5 million tpa and one million tpa respectively.
The Suratgarh unit is slated to go on stream by December 2009, while the
Roorkee unit is likely to commence operations in February 2010. Besides, plans
are afoot to add roller presses at its units in Khushkhera, Beawar and Ras in
Rajasthan. The roller press at Khushkhera has become operational in June 2009.
The addition at Beawar is expected to be ready by December 2009, while Ras'
roller press is scheduled to commence operations by November 2009.
This apart, the company is setting up waste heat recovery projects totalling
43 MW and two thermal power plants of 50 MW each at its Beawar and Ras
facilities. All the units are slated to be completed by April 2010.
