Simplex Infrastructures has bagged a contract to design and construct the Metro-2B Corridor from D N Nagar to Mankhurd.
The government nodal agency, Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has given its approval to Simplex Infrastructures which was the lowest bidder at Rs 1,080 crore.
The contract will be awarded to the contractor after the Executive Committee accords its approval.
The company will construct 11 elevated stations from ESIC Nagar, Prem Nagar, Indira Nagar, Old Airport, Khira Nagar, Saraswat Nagar, National College Bandra (W), MMRDA Office, Income Tax Office, and Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC).
The tenders were invited to design and construct a 12 km long viaduct and eleven elevated stations in the first part on the D N Nagar to Mankhurd Metro-2B Corridor.
The DN Nagar to Mankhurd Metro-2B Corridor is 23.5 km long and will have 22 stations.
The remaining 11 stations from MTNL Metro, S G Barve Marg, Kurla Terminal, Kurla-E, EEH, Chembur, Diamond Garden, Shivaji Chowk, BSNL Metro, Mankhurd, and Mandala (Depot) will be tendered separately.
