Sotefin Bharat, the Indian subsidiary of Swiss automated car parking systems manufacturer Sotefin, has announced plans to invest Rs 45 crore in establishing a manufacturing facility in West Bengal. The project will be executed in two phases, with Rs 25 crore earmarked for Phase-I, and Rs 20 crore for Phase-II, expected to be completed within the next 18 months.
"Bengal will be the global manufacturing hub. We will not only cater to the demand for automatic car parking systems in the country but also export to countries like the US and UAE," said Jignesh Sanghavi, Director, Sotefin Bharat. The facility will significantly enhance the company’s production capabilities and enable it to increase its indigenisation level from the current 80 percent to 100 percent percent.
With the presence of a skilled workforce and the company’s existing office in the city, the move is expected to boost local employment and support India’s growing demand for smart urban infrastructure such as automated parking systems.
