The Spartek Group, a ceramic tiles brand, is planning to build a capacity of
7.2 million sq mtrs of wall, vitrified and floor tiles at an investment of Rs
100 crore.
The Group is likely to take up the proposed expansion either on its own or
through contract manufacturing JVs. By September 2010, it is expected to
finalise the partners for three JVs in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Each
project is likely to entail an investment of Rs 25-50 crore.
The Group is likely to hold minority stake in the JVs and will assist them in
setting up plants on turnkey basis for producing quality products. It is likely
to assure them entire buy back of production for selling the products under
Spartek brand through its nation wide network of 500 dealers.
Spartek also intends to set up on its own a tiles plant at a cost of Rs 25
crore with 2.5 million sq mtrs capacity at Vadalur in Tamil Nadu where the Group
firm, Neycer has a facility producing sanitary ware items. The Group has teamed
up with Cerint of Italy to produce a wide range of products like wall tiles,
floor tiles and vitrified tiles.
