Sterlite Power has acquired a 64.98 percent stake in the Maharashtra Transmission Communication Infrastructure (MTCIL), a joint venture between Sterlite Technologies and the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company (MSETCL).
Sterlite Power acquired the equity stake from the Sterlite Technologies (STL).
MTCIL is a Public Private Partnership for optical ground wire (OPGW) fiber networks operating on a build, own, operate and maintain (boom) model.
MTCIL operates a fiber network of 3,162 km across 35 co-locations, serving telcos, ISPs and data centers, in Maharashtra.
