A joint survey by MSRDC and Land Department for the 706 km long Mumbai-Nagpur Super Communication Expressway or 'Maharashtra Prosperity Corridor' will commence from 21 November, 2016.
The estimated cost of the project is Rs 46,000 crore, of which Rs 13,000 crore will be used for land acquisition, Rs 24,000 crore will be for civil work, Rs 500 crore for utility shifting, and Rs 2,500 crore as node development.
A loan amounting Rs 27,000 crore will be raised for the project from the ADB.
Around 10,000 ha of land will be required to develop the project.
The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is in the process of finalising the project alignment.
The survey for the road project will be carried out in the next two months. The government is planning to float a Request for Qualifications in May 2017, and funds for the project might come from ADB.
The project is targeted to be completed in 2019.
