Tamil Nadu has signed significant MoUs with homegrown food brands Sri Krishna Sweets, Annapoorna, and Hatsun Agro Products to strengthen food processing capabilities and enhance export potential.
At the TN Rising Conclave, the state highlighted Coimbatore as a key hub for turning regional brands into global contenders. Sri Krishna Sweets will invest Rs 100 crore in an exportoriented sweets unit, while Annapoorna plans a Rs 300 crore investment in a centralised kitchen. Hatsun will invest Rs 860 crore in expanding its dairy production. The state’s push aims to elevate local food companies to the global stage, with policy support and export facilitation.
Tamil Nadu’s Minister TRB Rajaa emphasised the state’s potential to build globally competitive brands like MTR Foods and Haldiram’s. Additionally, E Star Foods and Podaran Foods have also committed significant investments in manufacturing facilities.
