Tanzania and Zambia are set to construct an oil pipeline from commercial capital Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania to the mining city of Ndola in Zambia at a cost of USD 1.5 billion.
The oil pipeline will be constructed by both countries to transport refined products between the neighbouring states. A feasibility study is scheduled which will be carried out in FY19-20.
The TZPP is a proposed pipeline to transport refined petroleum products from the seaport of Dar es Salaam on the Indian Ocean through central Tanzania and northern Zambia to Ndola, a total distance of 1,349 km.
The project will have take-off points at Morogoro, Iringa, Njombe, Mbeya and Songwe regions in Tanzania.
