1. Boolean Searches :

i. AND - Shows results where both terms on either side of the 'AND' operator are present. 'AND' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi AND metro result - It will return records in which 'delhi' as well as 'metro' both are present.

ii. OR - Shows results where either term (or both terms) is present. 'OR' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi OR metro result - It will return records in which either 'delhi' or 'metro' or both are present

2. Proximity Searches

A proximity search looks for terms that are within a specific distance from one another. For example, search term - 'delhi metro'~10 result - It will search for records where 'delhi' and 'metro' are found within 10 words of each other

3. Phrase searches

You can search phrases using double quotes. for e.g. 'delhi metro' result - It will return records where 'delhi metro' phrase is found.

Tata Projects emerges front runner to build new Parliament building

Tata Projects has emerged as the lowest (L1) bidder for construction of the new Parliament building in New Delhi. The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) had put a tender out for the project which was opened on 16 September 2020. 
 
The company is set to bag the contract to build new Parliament building. The tender is being awarded a year after the Union Ministry for Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) announced their plan to build a new Parliament building, construct a new common central secretariat for all ministries and revamp the Central Vista running from Rashtrapati Bhawan to India Gate. 
 
As per the plan, a new triangular shaped Parliament building will be constructed while the current Parliament building will be revamped.  The proposed building at Plot No 118 will comprise basement, ground plus two floors. The maximum height of the building is 42 mtr.
 
The area for expansion and renovation work and plots involved includes the existing Plot 116 with an area of approximately 10.75 acre (43,505 sq mtr) with a built-up area of around 44,940 sq mtr. In all, the total proposed project area, for both the plots after expansion and renovation is around 21.25 acre (85,536 sq mtr) and the built-up are is 1,09,940 sq mtr. 
 
No demolition work is proposed for the existing building at Plot No 116. The scope of renovation of the existing Parliament building includes condition survey to assess the structure; structural strengthening; and renovation of interiors and utilities.
 
During construction phase, total water requirement is expected to be 180 KLD which will be met through treated waste water (recycling of available sewage) from the existing building or from other authorised sources and 45 KLD will be met by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) supply.
 
Parking facility for 100 ECS has also been proposed. The total power requirement during construction phase is 400 kW will be met from NDMC and total power requirement during operation phase is 3,692 kW (existing) and 3,578 kW (proposed) and will be met from NDMC.
 
The project will provide permanent employment to 200 people during construction phase and to 4,500 people during operations. It will provide temporary employment to 3,000 people during construction and to 1,000 people during operational phase.
