The Greater Noida Authority has approved Western Sydney University (WSU)’s proposal to establish its first campus in India.
The decision comes after WSU expressed interest in setting up a campus in Greater Noida, which has become a hub for educational institutions. An official from the Greater Noida Authority mentioned, "The board has approved the commercial terms and conditions related to the establishment of the campus." The university had earlier shown interest in leasing space at Tower-2 in Knowledge Park-IV, which has several vacant floors. This collaboration will also provide students access to quality education.
In January, WSU signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Uttar Pradesh government and Greater Noida Authority for a four-year lease, with a rent-free period for initial fit-out work. The university is aiming for its Greater Noida campus to open by mid-2026, with future expansion plans already in discussion.
