Tata Steel is likely
to begin the full fledged construction of its six million tpa steel plant at
Kalinga Nagar industrial complex at Duburi in Jajpur district in Orissa in 2009.
The company will begin the work as per the schedule despite of the global
slowdown.
The project involves
an investment outlay of Rs.15,000 crore . The company already has equipment and
machineries from countries like Germany and China for the plant. Though
The company had
entered into an MoU with Orissa government in 2004,for setting up its plant in
Kalinga nagar. However, the company could not make considerable progress due to
opposition from people.
Tata Steel has
resolved the differences with the local people over the plant and this will help
