Tata Steel's proposed integrated steel plant at
Jharkhand would now have capacity of 12 million tpa, as against 10 million tpa
announced earlier.
The formal MoU for the steel plant will be signed
with the Jharkhand government in the next two-three days, it is learnt.
The plant location is not yet available; although
it is learnt that Chandil, Manoharpur and Patratu have been shortlisted.
ProjectsToday adds: On 3 September 2005, there
were unconfirmed reports that the plant capacity would be raised to 15 million
tpa, an announcement that Tata Steel declined on 4 September 2005. The steel
major then maintained that the plant capacity would stay at 10 million tpa.
