The Telangana government has awarded the contract for the construction of an iconic cablestayed bridge across Mir Alam Tank to KNR Constructions for Rs 319.24 crore under the EPC mode.
The contract price is 4.89 percent higher than the government's initial estimate of Rs 303.36 crore, as per a MAUD department order. Musi Riverfront Development Corporation's (MRDCL) MD has been authorised to issue the letter of acceptance and finalise the agreement. This will be Hyderabad’s second cable-stayed bridge, after the Durgam Cheruvu bridge in Madhapur.
The project aims to reduce traffic congestion between the Bengaluru National Highway at Shastripuram and Chintalmet while supporting the broader Musi Riverfront Development Project (MRDP). The MRDP focuses on environmental improvements, flood prevention, infrastructure upgrades, and tourism promotion along the 58-km Musi River stretch.
