Telangana government will acquire 420 acres and develop a 20-km six-lane road to provide better connectivity to the Young India Skill University and the proposed Future City to Outer Ring Road (ORR) as well as Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.
Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has prepared a proposal connecting the skill university and Future City. The government has proposed nine radial roads, including the six-lane road, to connect to ORR and regional ring road (RRR) in future. The revenue department issued a notification for land acquisition for the six-lane project.
As part of Phase-I of the road development plan, 420 acres will be acquired from farmers and land owners from Kongara Khurd village in Maheshwaram mandal, Ferozguda and Kongara Kalan villages in Ibrahimpatnam mandal, Lemur, Rachalur, Gummadavelly, Punjaguda and Meerkhanpet villages in Rangareddy district.
All the nine radial roads will be developed in two to three phases by taking over 916 acres from 15 villages. This includes 560 acres from private land owners, and the rest will be either government land or forest land. The first phase, covering skill university to ORR exit no. 13 will be taken up immediately, and the next phase work will be done next year, which will mainly connect to RRR. Land acquisition will be taken forward in Kadthal, Amangal and Kandukur mandals.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stone for the skill university in the first week of August, 2024. The government has already allotted 150 acres and a 100 crore corpus for this project.
