Projects & Development India Ltd. (PDIL) has extended the tender submission deadline to 23 June 2025 for the nitric acid and ammonium nitrate plant being developed by Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals at Jharsuguda, Odisha. This marks the seventh extension of the tender, which was originally due on 12 September 2024.
The plant, based on coal gasification technology, is being set up by Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals—a joint venture between Coal India Ltd. (CIL) and Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL).
PDIL, on behalf of the joint venture, had issued the tender on 14 June 2024 to select an LSTK contractor. The scope includes the supply of process license, basic and detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, 120 months of operations and maintenance (O&M) services, complete project management, and handover of the plant and its associated facilities.
