Varanasi Nagar Nigam has issued a tender for the selection of an agency to undertake bioremediation of legacy waste at an old dumpsite through bio-mining and resource recovery.
The scope of work includes the screening, segregation, and land reclamation of the existing dumpsite, which aims to address environmental concerns and improve waste management practices in the region. The selected agency will be responsible for the entire process, using advanced bio-mining techniques to recover usable materials and restore the land.
This project aligns with the city’s goals of environmental sustainability and improving the quality of urban spaces for its residents, and is a key part of Varanasi’s efforts to manage waste effectively and promote sustainable urban development. The work is expected to be completed within 24 months from the allotment of the contract.
The closing date for submission of bids is set for 19 January, 2026.
