1. Boolean Searches :

i. AND - Shows results where both terms on either side of the 'AND' operator are present. 'AND' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi AND metro result - It will return records in which 'delhi' as well as 'metro' both are present.

ii. OR - Shows results where either term (or both terms) is present. 'OR' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi OR metro result - It will return records in which either 'delhi' or 'metro' or both are present

2. Proximity Searches

A proximity search looks for terms that are within a specific distance from one another. For example, search term - 'delhi metro'~10 result - It will search for records where 'delhi' and 'metro' are found within 10 words of each other

3. Phrase searches

You can search phrases using double quotes. for e.g. 'delhi metro' result - It will return records where 'delhi metro' phrase is found.

Three US multinational companies to set up units in Uttar Pradesh

Three US-based multinational companies Microsoft, MAQ Software as well as PepsiCo have come forward to set up their units in the state of Uttar Pradesh at a cost of Rs 2,866 crore, giving a boost to industrial development in the state.
 
The factories being set up by the three companies will provide employment to 7,500 people.
 
Microsoft and MAQ Software will set up their units in Noida, while PepsiCo has started construction of its factory in Mathura.
 
Encouraged by these developments, several other US investors associated with the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum are also keen to invest in the state. 
 
The companies including Adobe, Amazon, Apple, American Tower Corporation, Caterpillar, Delphi, Cisco, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, Emerson, Google, Johnson & Johnson, JP Morgan & Company, Lockheed Martin, Marriott International, MasterCard, Mondelez International, Carlyle Group, Walmart, Warburg Pincus, IHS Markit and USIBC are willing to invest in the state and in other parts of the country.
 
Among them, companies such as Adobe, Amazon, Microsoft, Delphi New Holland, Global Logic, Excel, PepsiCo, Synopsis and Cargill are already operating in India while Microsoft, MACQ Software Noida and PepsiCo have stepped up efforts to set up their units in the state.
 
Over 40 foreign companies, including American companies, proposed to invest around Rs 17,000 crore in the state in the last four-and-a-half years. 
 
Microsoft has been allotted 60,000 sqmtr of land in Noida to set up its largest centre in the country, which will provide employment to 3,500 people. The company will start operations within the stipulated time of five years so that people residing in NCR can benefit from it at the earliest. At present, the company has its largest unit at Gachi Baoli in Hyderabad, Telangana.
 
MAQ India has also been allotted 16,350 sq mtr of land in Noida's Sector-145 to set up its facility. It will invest Rs 252 crore to set up its unit which will provide employment to around 2,500 people.
 
PepsiCo is setting up a potato chips factory in Kosi Kalan, Mathura, at a cost of about Rs 800 crore. Production at the factory is likely to start 2021. Around 1,500 people will get direct or indirect employment from this project.
