Titagarh Rail Systems (TRSL) and ABB India have expanded their strategic partnership with a new agreement to develop propulsion systems and transfer technology for 25kV driverless Metro projects in India.

The agreement focuses on the design, manufacture, and commissioning of propulsion systems, as well as the transfer of technology for the train control and monitoring system (TCMS) for 25 kV AC metro applications, upgradable to GoA4. It also includes a gradual transfer of manufacturing and co-production of converters and traction motors under the Government of India’s "Make in India" initiative.

Titagarh has already secured a contract to deliver 240 Metro coaches for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) for Line 5 and Line 6. This agreement reinforces Titagarh’s commitment to the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
