Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) and Maharashtra's Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) have signed an agreement to set up advanced automotive laboratories in 45 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across the state.
The initiative aims to improve light motor vehicle (LMV) technician training and create global work opportunities for students. Over the next five years, TKM will help establish state-of-the-art LMV labs and provide specialised training for instructors, benefiting around 8,000 ITI students. The first phase of this project will see 13 labs operational by March 2026, with additional labs to follow.
Skill Development Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha emphasised that the collaboration would enhance the quality of training and help students access better employment prospects. "This partnership will offer world-class training and open global job prospects for our youth," the Minister said.
