Spain-based firm Travipos SA is planning to establish an ethanol plant with a daily capacity of two lakh litres at Siliguri in West Bengal with a total investment of Rs 150 crore.
The building materials manufacturer will add another Rs 100 crore to set up a modern concrete sleeper manufacturing plant at New Jalpaiguri. Apart from this, Travipos is also looking to set up a five-star hotel in Siliguri.
Travipos, which is part of PCM Railone, has marked its footprint in 14 countries, including Spain, Germany and West Asia. The PCM Group has been fortified by the state’s ethanol production promotion policy to boost investments in the sector. The financial incentives include a waiver on land mutation and conversion fees, stamp duties, and electricity duties.
