Tsuyo Manufacturing has signed a letter of intent (LoI) with the Karnataka government to establish a new electric powertrain manufacturing facility, and a dedicated testing track for commercial EVs in the state.
The facility will focus on producing next-gen heavy-duty electric powertrain systems, including electric motors, e-drives, eaxles, and integrated powertrain systems for electric buses, trucks, and mining vehicles. Additionally, a test track will enable faster development and validation of these systems tailored to Indian conditions. This initiative aims to reduce India’s reliance on imported powertrain systems, bolster the domestic heavy commercial EV sector, and generate employment.
The plant’s capacity will start at 0.5 kW, expandable to 600 kW through collaborations with CETL and LvKON. The project was announced at the Bengaluru Tech Summit 2025 in the presence of state officials and Tsuyo’s leadership.
