Tulsyan Nec is planning to set up a 70 MW coal based thermal power plant (TPP) at Gummidipoondi, in the Tiruvalluvar district of Tamil Nadu. The project entails a
cost of Rs 380 crore.
The project spread over an area of 40 acre will have two circulating
fluidized-bed-combustion boilers, of 35 MW capacity each, fuelled with a blend
of domestic and imported coal for the generation of power. The fuel requirement
for the project has been estimated to be 0.43 million tpa.
The project is expected to begin power generation in December 2011 which will
be evacuated to the grid of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board.
