Hyderabad-based defence drone manufacturer UAV Tech has been selected by the Rajasthan government to establish a state-of-the-art unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) industrial and development hub.
The upcoming facility will include manufacturing and assembly units, advanced R&D labs, a flight testing airstrip, and a skill development academy for drone pilots and technicians. UAV Tech founder Moukthik Kiran Reddy confirmed the Rs 300-cr investment and emphasised the company’s focus on defence applications, including striker, target, and mobile drones for logistics, surveillance, and emergency response. He noted that these drones feature vertical lift or short-runway takeoff capabilities and are guided by advanced target-tracking algorithms.
The company currently operates a facility in Katedan, Telangana. The new hub Rajasthan is aligned with India's growing strategic focus on indigenous drone manufacturing. The company will prioritise B2B and B2G operations to strengthen India’s drone defence ecosystem.
