The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved the construction of the Farrukhabad Link Expressway, a 90.83-km six-lane greenfield project designed to connect the Agra–Lucknow and Ganga Expressways.
Estimated at Rs 7,488.74 crore, the expressway will run from Sawaijpur in Hardoi to Kudrail in Etawah, creating a seamless high-speed corridor with future provisions for expansion to eight lanes. To be executed under the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) model, the project is expected to be completed within 18 months. The selected developer will also maintain the expressway for five years post-construction.
Presided over by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the approval highlights the state’s focus on infrastructure-led growth. Beyond improving trade and travel efficiency, the expressway will enhance connectivity for Farrukhabad, a key trading hub and home to the historic Sankisa Buddhist site, which draws pilgrims from across Asia.
