The Uttar Pradesh government has allocated Rs 1,000 crore to fast-track Phases 3 and 4 of Lucknow's Green Corridor project, which aims to ease city congestion and improve connectivity.
The funding will help clear delays and financial bottlenecks, accelerating construction of key traffic corridors. With over 20 lakh registered vehicles in the district, the Green Corridor is becoming increasingly crucial. The first phase, from Basantkunj to Pakka Pul, is already operational, and the second phase is nearing completion, with some sections expected to be inaugurated in February.
Phase 3 will focus on reducing traffic jams at critical junctions, including a new flyover from Baikunth Dham to La Martiniere Boys' College. This elevated stretch is designed to bypass the congested 1090 crossing, cutting waiting times during peak hours. Officials aim to complete Phases 2 to 4 by mid-2026. This phase will also include a 2.20 km flyover connecting the Green Corridor to the G-20 Road. The enhanced funding will help clear delays and fast-track construction, as per LDA officials.
