UltraTech Cement has approved a fresh capital expenditure of Rs 10,255 crore to increase its cement production capacity by 22.8 million tonne per annum (MTPA), including that of its subsidiary, India Cements.
With this expansion, UltraTech’s global production capacity will rise to 240.76 MTPA. The new units are slated to become operational in phases starting FY28, and the expansion will be executed through a mix of brownfield and greenfield projects. This strategic investment supports rising domestic demand and aims to reinforce UltraTech’s contribution to India's infrastructure development, aligning with the government’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.
The move follows over Rs 50,000 crore invested in the last five years, underlining the group’s long-term confidence in India’s economic trajectory and infrastructure scale.
