Univastu India, a prominent player in India’s infrastructure and EPC sector, has achieved a significant milestone by securing two high-value sports infrastructure contracts in Maharashtra. These projects support India’s broader vision of hosting future Olympic Games and emphasise the state's commitment to enhancing world-class athletic facilities.
The first project, awarded by the Public Works Department (West), Satara, involves the construction of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Sports Complex in Karad. Valued at Rs 88.03 crore, the facility will be developed for the Karad Municipal Council and is scheduled for completion within 24 months, excluding monsoon delays.
The second and more extensive contract is for the construction of the Divisional Sports Complex in Jalgaon, commissioned by the Divisional Sports Complex Committee. With a project value of Rs 244.31 crore, it is expected to be completed in 36 months, excluding monsoon periods. “These state-of-the-art facilities are more than just construction projects; they are an expression of India’s Olympic aspirations,” Chairman & Managing Director, Univastu India, Pradeep Khandagale said.
