Uttarakhand is all set to get north India’s first medical equipment manufacturing and testing park.
The State Industrial Development Corporation of Uttarakhand (SIDCUL) entered a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Kalam Institue of Health Technology (KIHT) on 29 August 2019 to build Medi City on the border of Dehradun and Haridwar.
The facility will cater to the medicine manufacturing units of Roorkee, Haridwar and western Uttar Pradesh. The project will come up over 200 acre of land parcel.
The park is likely to see the manufacturing of over 1,000 medical equipment and also test their usability within the premises.
A team from KIHT is expected to visit the state in September to finalise location and prepare a plan for the project.
