Vertex Spinning Mills is confident of
completing its greenfield textile project in Maharashtra by December 2006.
Speaking to ProjectsToday, senior project personnel indicated that commercial
production from the facility is targeted to start by March 2007.
Around 30 per cent of civil work on
the project has been completed, company officials stated. The Rs.512 crore
project involves setting up of a cotton spinning and weaving mill of capacity
20,000 tpa on 100 acres of land at Nardhana in Dhule district of Maharashtra.
Machinery would be sourced from Reifer of Germany.
The expansion project will take the
company's overall capacity to 24,000 tpa. It already has a 4,000 tpa spinning
and weaving unit at the Pithampur Industrial Area in Madhya Pradesh's Dhar
district. Incidentally, the company had earlier proposed to expand the capacity
at the Pithampur unit, but later decided to shift the project as a greenfield
unit in Maharashtra. Post-expansion, the company's will have a total of 1.6 lakh
spindles, spread over both locations.
