Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced that 100 acres of land will be allotted for Vidarbha Global Skill University to equip local youth with essential skills for the region’s growing industries. This announcement was made during the closing ceremony of a three-day event organized by the Association for Industrial Development at Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University.
The CM emphasised the government’s focus on comprehensive development in Vidarbha, aiming to make Nagpur and Amravati magnet regions for regional growth. He highlighted Gadchiroli’s rich iron ore deposits as a catalyst for future large-scale industries in the surrounding districts. He expressed satisfaction with Boeing’s maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility in Nagpur, underscoring the city’s transformation into an aviation hub.
Several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) were signed during the event - Artificial Electronics Intelligent Materials will invest Rs 10,000 crore in Nagpur’s semiconductor sector, creating employment for 500 individuals. Shrem Group of Companies plans to invest Rs 800 crore in Vidarbha’s biofuel sector, generating employment for 100 people. Olectra EV Chairman KV Pradeep detailed his company’s upcoming investment in Nagpur, which was signed during the Davos summit.
