The Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) has signed a Rs 300 crore agreement with Rail Vikas Nigam (RVNL) to construct a flyover aimed at decongesting traffic and streamlining cargo movement to and from the Vizag Port.
Spanning 3.3 km, the flyover will include two-lane and three-lane sections, with carriageway widths of seven and 10.5 mtrs., respectively. This initiative is designed to address bottlenecks caused by 11 level crossings along the Seahorse Junction to dock area route, enhancing connectivity for road and rail traffic.
This infrastructure project is pivotal for improving traffic management and expediting cargo evacuation in the vicinity of the port and city.
