Web Werks, a fully-owned subsidiary of US-based Iron Mountain, is planning to invest Rs 5,200 crore to set up data centres in Telangana.
The announcement was made during a meeting between Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, key representatives from Iron Mountain and Web Werks at the World Economic Forum in Davos on 17 January, 2024. Data centre company will expand over the next few years by investing over Rs 4,000 crore in a greenfield hyperscale data centre in the state.
Web Werks will invest Rs 1,200 crore in a 10 MW networking-heavy data centre in Hyderabad, wherein the investment is already underway.
Currently, the company utilises 100 percent renewable energy across its data centres globally and looks forward to expanding this in India.
